Arturo's love affair with tequila began when he was only sixteen years old, when he won a mariachi singing competition and to his delight he received a bottle of tequila as a prize.
Thoroughly encouraged by his friends, he continued to compete, collecting bottles, knowledge, and more friends.
Years later, after refining his palate and discovering what great tequila should taste like, he founded el Tenor Tequila, infusing his love and passion for mariachi and opera into every bottle.
Our company's spirit embodies the discipline, energy and excitement of the operatic stage, raising a glass to the harmony of flavors and the sweet taste of victory.

Arturo Chacón Cruz is a world-renowned Mexican American operatic tenor and founder of el Tenor Tequila.
A winner of the prestigious Operalia competition, he continues to sing leading roles throughout the world in renown theaters including New York's Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Carnegie Hall, Milan's La Scala, Vienna State Opera, Berlin State Opera, Royal Festival Hall in London, Tokyo, Beijing, Venice, Palermo, just to name a few.
